Tomáš Kohl A fresh look at the tango tradition with a lot of instruments you won't normally hear in tango. Plenty of good vibes, catchy melodies. Some tracks will also please dancers! Favorite track: Hiena.

about

STL breaks with its universe of “cool tango” to offer us its most visceral, rupturist and blunt album. In correlation with its cover art in which a “multi-animal” creature is seen, the song universes of the 9 tracks of this album cross worlds that pass without intermezzos from extreme nostalgia to sordid reverie. It is no accident that this album, the seventh of the band, has the production of Acho Estol (La Chicana), who brings a sound concept closer to a live band, with sparkles of “criollo” airs and an instrumental search in the line from Tom Waits and Nick Cave.
Animal Tango was recorded in the mythical Ion studios of the city of Buenos Aires and is a conceptual disc in which each song alludes to different human behaviors in analogy with some animal. To highlight: Larvario, fantastic lysergic waltz, Amores Perros, with a small wind orchestra and Leona, the only composition in which Martin Delgado, leader of the band, leaves his position as lyricist to share credits with the same Estol.
